UniversalAET’s Green by Design Sustainability Program Features Tree-Saving Paper Recycling Program
UniversalAET’s Green by Design corporate sustainability program has been in place for more than five years, but this year we set even higher goals for company-wide business practices that demonstrate our commitment to minimizing our impact on the environment.
We recently created a new Green by Design page on our website exclusively dedicated to sustainability, and we hope you will take a look at some of our achievements, including a gift to the Nature Conservancy to kick off 2015.
Another recent UniversalAET effort is our participation in Shred-It’s corporate paper shredding and recycling program in 2014, which allowed us to save a total of 66 trees from destruction. Although we already have drastically reduced our printing and paper use, relying on electronic storage and transmission of documents, we are able to eliminate waste from what paper we do use. Our headquarters in Stoughton, Wis., and our Center of Excellence manufacturing facility in Beloit, Wis., both contributed materials for shredding.
Our participation in a shredding program also brings the benefit of providing security to business data by destroying outdated or unnecessary sensitive documents.
Other Green by Design efforts include staff volunteer projects that benefit the environment, switching from paper coffee cups to ceramic mugs, installing energy-efficient lighting, and recycling scrap metal and pallets at the manufacturing facilities.
Visit our Green by Design page in the coming weeks to hear about more of our sustainability projects.
