UniversalAET Buying Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) as Part of Company Sustainability Program
UniversalAET has been purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) since 2012 for its Stoughton, Wis., headquarters, as well as its Muscoda, Wis., production facility. Renewable electricity delivers environmental and greenhouse gas reduction benefits over conventional fossil fuel-based power generation.
Since 2012, UniversalAET has generated 540,000 kWH worth of RECs in Muscoda and 198,000 in Stoughton. Stoughton had a 33 percent increase in kWH/yr in 2013 and 2014 from 2012.
UniversalAET’s participation in an renewable energy program is an element of its Green by Design sustainability program, which guides the company toward environmentally responsible decision-making in its practices.
